More summer projects 2007 re-cap

Two more bigger projects that I've done for the summer. One is the front T-shirt logo design for WCCCLC (Western Canada Chinese Catholic Living Camp), the back is done by Susanna Leung who did a very good job. They match very nicely. Theme is Journey of Happiness. The front idea represents someone holding a tour flag like a tour guide, the design is a modification of the existing camp logo. The back represents different happy expressions captured on films by tourists.

A Journey to the Everlasting Light Part II, I have another opportunity to do a poster for them, by the gift from God and with the help of a friend Mr. Brown in art direction, I translated the idea from director's rough sketch left to the final product on the right. I wish them all the best in their musical performance and fundraise effort. Last time was a blast!

Sugar sculpture

This is one of my summer projects 2007. I couldn't believe one 1 lb of sugar dough made of marshmallow, icing sugar and crisco can make art. It took me one and a half day to finish the piece, my 1st sugar sculpture aka cake top for my brother's wedding. It is my best imitation of my logo design for them

WCCCLC 2007 poster

Recently I have done this poster for Western Canada Catholic Chinese Living Camp. The title of the camp is "Journey of Happiness" It immediately gave me the idea of travelling. Among the concepts I suggested, the graphic team like the cheesy travel agency advertisement idea. The retro look wasn't my original intention until I place the rainbow and halftone filter on the design. And somehow this old bus is the best one that coordinate with the overall design among the modern coaches that I've found. the graphic style bus version is the second try and the team still prefer the original. And so do I :P because it looks cheesier.
